Seriously, I know I sound like a broken record, but time is just flying by at an immeasurable rate. I was mainly absent this summer because of having to deal with a triple digit summer for close to 3 months straight. Our first time with triple digits after chasing 70 degrees for 3 years, we were a little spoiled you might say. Our trailer struggled to keep up in the afternoons and misery was amongst us for those summer months. The struggle was so real we actually moved into a rental home and are rooting ourselves into the South Texas lifestyle.
To keep us busy we have engrossed ourselves into our local church. It's strange to have established a community so much so that when we go to the store, we usually see people we know, something we haven't gotten to experience much...ever.
RaeLynn is learning how to multiply and divide, Marlei is learning all the quirky, lovely rules of the English language and Alice is working her way into learning how to read which has been fun. Teaching Alice to just stay still and listen is a feat in itself.
We recently purchased some chickens...also we now have a cat. This is all very strange behavior for us. There's something about this community that has drawn us in and seems we are here to stay for a while. This cooler weather has made all of us miss the mountains, it is actually painful for me (I'm being dramatic but if you know you know).
This past weekend my dad and niece came to visit for the annual "Come and Take it Celebration." As someone who doesn't like crowds or people much, it was very peaceful and enjoyable for the most part. The girls go to ride their first rides ever and Alice's reaction to the kid rollercoaster was an award-winning performance! We love and miss all of y'all and thank you for keeping up with our family. It is such a treasure to remain off social media but still able to provide a place for everyone to follow along. We are so grateful for the new phase of life and finding a place to call home for now. God Bless.
